What’s the difference between the 30kg and 40kg cement dumbbell sets?

Mostly the total weight range, not the build. Both use the same cement-plate-on-a-rod system with a joint bar for barbell mode; this one just tops out lower, with four each of 1.25kg, 1.5kg, 2kg, and 2.5kg plates rather than the heavier jumps in the 40kg set. If you’re newer to lifting or tight on space, the finer increments here make sense. Want more headroom to grow into, the 40kg version’s the better long-term buy.

Is 30kg of adjustable weight enough to build muscle at home?

For most people starting, yes. Compound moves like presses, rows, and lunges rarely need much past 10-12kg per dumbbell in the early stages, and having four plate sizes to step up through means you’re not stuck at one weight for months. It won’t carry an experienced lifter through heavy sets forever, but as a first home set it covers a genuinely useful range. If you are setting up a home gym, our squat racks may be a good addition.

How much weight can I actually load onto each dumbbell?

Split evenly across both rods, you’re looking at roughly 15kg per dumbbell once everything’s loaded, including the handle. The four plate sizes mean you can build up gradually rather than jumping straight to max load, useful if you’re sharing the set with someone at a different strength level.

Do I get a pair, or just one adjustable dumbbell?

This set makes a pair, two rods, so both hands are covered. If you’d rather buy heavier dumbbells individually and build your own pair over time, our 32kg adjustable dumbbells are sold that way instead.

How much space does the 30kg set take up for storage?

It packs down to 50 x 23 x 23cm, small enough to slide under a bed, into a cupboard, or onto a shelf when you’re not using it. That’s the main appeal of a set like this over fixed hex dumbbells: you get the weight range without needing a dedicated rack.
